Anthropologie in Autumn

I love Anthropologie. They're clothes are so adorable and vintage, I just want to squeal. What I don't love, however, are the prices. So, I'm remaking one of the looks from the August 2010 catalog. I couldn't get the picture to work, so here is the link: Anthropologie-Blue Dress

First, you need a blue patterned dress. This one is from Forever 21 and costs $24.90.

Next is the cardigan. It's from Arden B and costs $24.50. It also comes in pink, if you prefer that.

You need a brown belt for the dress. This one is from Charlotte Russe and costs $9.50.

Finally, the shoes. These are from Zappos and cost $45.00.

In the catalog, the entire look costs $542.
My look only costs $103.90. A little over, but not by much.

The shirt is grey. This one is a men's shirt also from JCPenny. It cost $22.99.

Finally, the boots. They are also from JCPenny and cost $59.99.

Altogether, the look costs $94.35.

Romantic Morning

This next look is a very soft, feminine look. It's from Shopbop.com, part of the Trend Report: Spring 2010.

First is the shirt. There are a few differences to this one from Forever 21, but it works well for the look. It costs $17.80.

Next is the skirt, also from Forever 21. It costs $19.80.

Finally is the shoes. They are from Asos.com and also come in black. They cost $50.54.

Altogether, the look costs $88.14.

Macy's Look 2

Here's is the second Macy's look I'm going to recreate. Most of the pieces will be more "inspired by" then actual replicas of the pieces used in the look. The picture comes from thegloss.com.

First is the cardigan. This one comes from JCPenny and costs $29.99.

Next is the shirt. This one also comes from JCPenny and costs $6.99.

Now, the skirt. The one I found isn't flower print, but it has color on a white background. that white background is important for breaking up the bright color of the purple. The skirt is from Sears and costs $17.99.

Next is the necklace. This one is from Overstock.com and costs $19.99.

Altogether, the look costs $74.96.

Macy's Look 1

There's a Macy's at my mall, but I hardly shop there. I just find the prices a little outrageous. So, I found a couple of lookbook styles from Macy's that I'm going to recreate. This is the first one, from thegloss.com.

First is the dress. I really concentrated on getting a dress with beading at the top, although the dress I found has yellow beading at the top which makes it a little hard to see. However, it works for the look. Cost: $49.17  BHFO.com

Next is the shoes. They look silver in the picture, so that's what I found. Cost: $35.50 Charlotte Russe

Finally, the bangles. Cost: $5.80 Forever 21

Altogether, the look costs $90.47.

School is In

This next style is great for summer and fall. When the weather starts to get chilly, just throw on the cardigan and head off to class.

The next part is the navy cardigan. This one is from Sears and retails at $9.99. SML Layered Cardigan

Next comes the shorts. These are from Forever 21. They cost $16.90 and come in olive green and khaki. Canvas Belted Short

Next comes the shoes. I concentrated more on finding boots with buttons down the side then I did finding boots with a folded down tongue. These cost $32.49 and are from Sears. Restricted Footwear Cozy-Brown

Finally, the bag. This one is from Target and costs $16.99. Hollywood Intuition Clutch

All together, this look costs $94. 36.

Color and Plaid

I have a not so secret love for plaid. It's just very versatile and can be worn many different ways. That's why I love this next lookbook style, again from http://shopbop.com/. It's from the Adriano Goldschmied lookbook.

First, the shirt. This is one of many plaid shirts I looked at for this look, but this one comes closest to matching the one in the lookbook, with the green and blue color. It costs $24.95 at American Eagle. To buy: http://www.ae.com/web/browse/product.jsp?catId=cat90102&productId=0355_5269&showId=0355_5269_915

First Lookbook Style

Hey everyone! I'm heading to college in the fall and after searching through many fashion sites and blogs to see what the newest fashions are, I'm shocked by how much everything costs. I never really cared about fashion, mistakenly believing that not many styles would look good on my plus size frame, but I've realized that that simply isn't true. So, I've decided to recreate some of the styles from various lookbooks on different fashion sites.

A lookbook is basically just an ad, with the creator of a line of clothes showing the customer how several of their clothing items look together in an outfit. Normally, they include links to the different items, so the customer can buy them. Interestingly enough, when I clicked the link on the first lookbook style I'm going to create, none of the items for the outfit were on sale on the site!

So, my first lookbook style is from http://shopbop.com/. It's a style from the Design Lookbook: American Trends.

I love how simple yet chic this look is. It's light enough for summer, but with with the blazer, it's also cool enough for fall.

Like I said above, I couldn't find out how much any of the items cost, but even just a shirt under this lookbook cost over $100. That's just far too much for me, and many people. Below, I have included pictures and links to items that make up this lookbook style, but at a much lower price. The entire look will be at or under $100. Also note that I am a bargain girl and JC Penny and Sears are some of my go-to stores. Forever 21 is also a great store, as is Charlotte Russe. As such, most of the items I include will come from there. Not all, but most

First up, the blazer:

This one comes from Macy's (as I couldn't find a striped blazer in any of the other stores, strangely enough). It retails for $37.49. I realize it doesn't exactly match the one in the lookbook, but it comes closest in color to those I found. To buy:http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=462876&CategoryID=122

The tank:

The tank comes from Forever 21 and retails at only $3.50. To buy:
http://www.forever21.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=FOREVER21&category%5Fname=top%5Fcamis%5Ftanks&product%5Fid=2000003495&Page=4&pgcount=25#

The shorts:

The shorts also come from Forever 21 and costs $10.50.http://www.forever21.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=FOREVER21&category%5Fname=btms%5Fshorts&product%5Fid=2076192054&Page=4&pgcount=25

Finally, the shoes:
The shoes also come from Forever 21 and cost $24.80. To buy:http://www.forever21.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=FOREVER21&category%5Fname=footwr%5Fdressy&footwr%5Fstyle=&footwr%5Fsize=&footwr%5Fcolor=color%5Ftaupe&footwr%5Fprice=&product%5Fid=2068359561&Page=1

All together, the outfit costs: $76.29!

That's my first Lookbook Style! Please leave a comment and tell me how I did, if you liked the outfit, or anything else you can think of.
